Metolius River cabin rentals in
Camp Sherman, Oregon
For each night you stay, a donation of $1 per night will automatically be added to your bill. Lake Creek Lodge will forward 100% of your contribution to the Sister's Trail Alliance. For every dollar contributed, the STA and the Deschutes National Forest will invest an additional $1.50 for on-the-ground conservation.
Over the past three years, Lake Creek Lodge and the Sister's Trail Alliance have been working to improve wildlife habitat, treat invasive weeds, restore watersheds, and enhance recreation opportunities on the Deschutes National Forest. Together with other Sisters area businesses, guests have donated over $35,000, every dollar of which has been further leveraged by the National Forest Foundation. Working together, these investments can go a long way towards improving the Deschutes National Forest.
The Lake Creek Trail: Camp Sherman to Suttle Lake
Through your $1.00 per night donations, we were able to restore a 4.5 mile trail that connects two popular recreation sites in the Metolius River Basin: Camp Sherman and Suttle Lake. Locals had used the trail for years for hiking and biking in the summer and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, but now visitors to the area can enjoy it as well. The new Lake Creek Trail helps to alleviate the recreational pressures on other popular trails in the area by providing an alternate route by which recreationalists can enjoy the Deschutes National Forest. Lake Creek flows out of Suttle Lake and joins the Metolius River about a quarter mile east of Lake Creek Lodge.
Thank you for making these projects possible!
