Local Adventures
As in all of Central Oregon there is much to do and keep you outdoors enjoying the fresh mountain air. We just happen to think that Sisters Country has it all and none of the adventures fall far from our doorstep. You will find plenty to keep you busy as you venture into our backyard ~ the 1.6 million acre playground we like to call the Deschutes National Forest. Scenic views and unspoiled wilderness in the Cascade Mountain range make for incredible hiking and biking.
Things to Do
Sisters Country is filled with adventurous possibilities: world class Metolius fly-fishing, bird watching, rafting, guided fly trips on the Deschutes River, caving, hiking, golfing at Aspen Lakes or Black Butte Ranch, rock climbing, mountain biking, you get the idea. Or, of course, you can always choose to do nothing but sit back and relax.
Scenic Drives & Sights
Experience the McKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass Scenic Byway with its dramatic views of the snowcapped High Cascade Peaks. The panorama of lava fields and six Cascade peaks is made more striking by the contrast between the black lava and white snow. The mountains are mirrored in crystal-clear lakes, and the byway passes beautiful waterfalls, including Sahalie and Koosah Falls.
Winter Recreation
Whether you’re into downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or, even tubing. Central Oregon ski hills offers deep snow and bright, blue skies. Gather your gear and head up to either Hoodoo Mountain Resort which is approximately 20 minutes door to hill or Mt. Bachelor which is about a 1 hour drive from Camp Sherman. We suggest a snowmobile tour if you want a taste of the winter backcountry.
Arts, Culture & Events
Yes, we have this too! Visit the historic Western style town of Sisters and take a stroll through the many stores ranging from antiques, art galleries, crafts, clothing and specialty shops. All this right next door to many great restaurants, brew pubs and ice cream parlors! The food ranges from barbecue and Wild West fare to some of the finest cuisine in the Pacific Northwest.
Enjoy many of the annual events in Sisters. Summer Faires, Art Strolls, Sisters Rodeo, Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show , Sisters Folk Festival , Western & Native American Arts Festival, Harvest Faire, Christmas festivities and much more!
